We usually make our home base down at the Needles campground and then go
from there. It varies - some years we just hang around there, doing day
hikes and just generally goofing around on the rocks and pillars. Other
years we try to drive to further destinations to explore, spend a couple of
days at Arches, go up to Dead Horse Point (love that name), stuff like that.
I usually have my son with me, so I don't really do too much of the
backcountry camping. Next year I'd like to go up to the Island in the Sky...

I don't know Cedar Mesa or Fry Canyon... I've been there many times, and
still have hardly scratched the surface... :-)
