Telus problem (addenum...)
hey guys -
here's the 2nd part of the telus problem (regarding the Telus slowdown)
- I called Tech Support on the 10th or 11th - when it started slowing down
big time. The Tech lady said 'oh,it's not Telus, it's the INTERNET in
general, there's many viruses and hence EVERYBODY is slowing down.
- the explanation sounded fishy, so I gave it some time, see if Telus
would fix the problem soon. NOTHING. It slows down during the evening
hours, when internet usage peaks (for home users)
- I call Telus Tech dept last night (18th) and the guy there ADMITS that
it's a Telus problem - files a complaint for me, also advises me to
complain to Telus tomorrow
- I call this morning (19th) - Telus guy credits me back this month's
internet cost.
- magically, Telus is pretty fast right now.
Coincidence?
(Oh, I also learned that when complaining about services, don't just jump
all-out at the cust service rep. He's just doing his job too. Ask him
what HE would recommend to solve the problem - and he immediately said
he'd credit the month's internet cost back to me, which I felt was
reasonable. If you bitch and scream too much, the guy will just be more
headstrong and just tell you to screw off.)
