must stay on their feet to spike and block. The post didn't get much response.
One person did mention that he would try the set-up. I'm wondering if he did
and if it were successful.

Not yet, probably will not get the chance to try it until next fall.

If you teach people to spin their spikes - you don't have to jump for
spiking - just aim for the top of the net, and see it go over, everytime.
And over any blocks too.

Those are usually called roll shots instead of spikes. If you hit without
jumping, there probably isn't going to be any block for you to hit over.

Are you talking about a roll shot going into a arc over the net? Clearing
everything - ie. going over everything?

Whereas I'm talking about a spike, that looks like a normal spike,
except it has a strong spin to it, such that if it hits the net or a
block, it will then roll over anything in it's way.

Unless you are playing with people whose reach is over 8ft what you describe
is not what most people call a spike. And most teams aren't going to bother
to put up a block to defend it.
