It's hard to judge this pattern, although the recent trades would
probably not have happened if the prospects were healthy. Mock and Chico are
23 and pitched in AA, so they are unlikely for next year anyway. Atilano was
a first-round pick in 2003 and TJ surgery is supposedly not so chancy
anymore. Regarding Mock, "The Diamondbacks drafted pitching in '04, and 3rd
rounder Garrett Mock was at the top of their list."
"Mock (117) and Chico (112) led the Diamondbacks' minor league system in
strikeouts this year, both pitching for Double-A Tennessee. Mock went 4-8
with a 4.95 ERA in 23 starts, while Chico was 7-2 with a 2.22 ERA in 13
starts."

I'm unsure if Bowden could have done any better with Livan and Daryle...
