How the pieces fit by Chico Harlan
* Roger Bernadina will be given every chance to play regularly in center
field and bat leadoff.
* Elijah Dukes will bat third... at least until Ryan Zimmerman can return.
* If Bernadina somehow struggles in center, Dukes is the back-up option
there.
* Cristian Guzman will be batting second. "I think Guzman's hitting approach
doesn't change at all regardless of where you're hitting him," Manny Acta
said. "He's hit well at second earlier in the year and leadoff. This is just
the fact that losing Milledge now, in order to make our lineup a little
deeper, we need to move those guys."
So, if everyone adjusts and Bernadina works out, then it's only the 7th
and 8th hitters that are question marks. Dmitri or Boone bats 5th with
Belliard at 6th, if he starts hitting again......
********************
Great start from Bernadina, and then having Casto kill the rally. Yet,
Nieves bats 8th..........
Not to mention, hit, HBP, walk, and then Boone and Casto swing at the
first pitches they see.
