Peter Gammons: Nats to trade a pitcher for an outfielder?
Peters Gammons reported that the Nationals are pleased with the progress
made by Tony Armas Jr., John Peterson and Tomo Ohka in spring training. As
a result, the team may be able "to move a starting pitcher in a deal for a
productive outfielder."
The Nats are looking for a leadoff quality hitter who can play the outfield.

I suspect that Livan Hernandez will stay put, so that leaves Zach Day and
Esteban Loaiza as trade bait. I'm guessing Zach Day is the candidate. I
also think that Day is a better pitcher than he has shown this spring, so he
may be able to provide the team with something of value in return if there
is another team looking for a pitcher.
Gammons reported last week that Endy Chavez and Terrmel Sledge are also
being offered around in possible trade discussions.
