"Bring us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe
free." Part 2

"I wonder if they will put [Alfonso Soriano's] locker in the Nationals
clubhouse next to that of Jose Guillen. That could be interesting...this is
the franchise to which misfits and lost souls come for salvation. The
Nationals are baseball's 12-step program. Sidney Ponson? Come on down."

The Washington Misfits: Jose Guillen. Alfonso Soriano. (Sidney Ponson?
Kenny Rogers? Where's Albert Belle when you need him? Does anyone know if
Terrell Owens can hit a curve?)

Hey, JimBow! Do you have Ugueth (Hack 'Em And Slash 'Em) Urbina agent's
phone number? I understand he's kinda tied up right now, but he *is* a free
agent. I bet he'll work cheap. *chuckle*

You still have a shot to get Milton Bradley too. And maybe Sheffield
will come.

Milton Bradley would be perfect!

And we can dump Ryan Church! After all, this young bible thumper just
doesn't fit the new image we need to develop here in the Nation's Capital!

C'mon, JimBow! Get on the phone and start calling the agents NOW!

While I'm at it, it occurs to me that there is a foul tempered cuss out
there who would be perfectly suited to manage a major league pack of
pugnacious punks! His name is:

"Sweet" Lou Piniella

JimBow, I understand Sweet Lou is on the market! Don't be shy!

Everyone! Let's help JimBow build the Washington Misfits (a.k.a. "the
Washington Woes")!

1B
2B Alfonso Soriano
SS
3B
LF
CF Milton Bradley
RF Jose Guillen
C
P Sidney Ponson
Kenny Rogers
Ugueth Urbina (RP)

Bench: Wil Cordero

Manager, Lou Piniella

"Jay Hatfield" <tophat@erols.com>after crossing the finish line at the
Special Olympics proudly proclaimed:

Isn't SS Cristan Guzman the biggest misfit in the NL?

and how about Rafael Palmerio on 1B?

I'm wondering if Albert Belle would be available as a base coach.

If Soriano plays with half the passion of Guillen, I'll take 8 more. Like
the Post, another reporter who know nothing of baseball covering the Nats
day to day. How anybody could criticize the effort given by Guillen this
year to the Nats is beyond me. It just shows Loverro's stupidity.

Well, we didn't get Kenny Rogers or Milton Bradley, but we still have Ryan
Drese!

"In May [2005], [Texas Rangers] catcher Rod Barajas and since-waived
pitcher Ryan Drese argued over pitch selection, which is not uncommon.
That they chose to hash it out in a full-scale fight in the middle of
the dugout, however, was a break from baseball etiquette. Usually those
things are settled up a runway, out of the view of cameras, or behind
closed doors.

"Drese made an obscene gesture at a TV camera on the final day of [the
2004] season."
