Default Another prediction for the Skins

I thought you guys would get a kick out of yet another prognostication
for the Skins from someone who tends to be wrong about 96.7% of the time
... this from the moron "pro football expert" at the Orlando Slantinel:

"NFC East

3. WASHINGTON (8-8)
We love ya Steve Spurrier, you big lug. But how much funning and gunning
can you do without a quarterback or a running back?"

--Comment: Ummm, I'll once again give an idiot the benefit for not
knowing much about Pat Ramsay since the jury is still out until he gets
a few more real-season snaps, but perhaps Mr Football is not aware that
the Skins have not one RB but FOUR!

and this one I'll add for laughs:

"AFC East

3. EAST RUTHERFORD JETS
Would love to see Vinny Testaverde have one more great season, but it's
his receiving corps (or lack of it) that worries me."

--Comment: Vinny has a mobility problem, what with his walker and all ..

reply:

The old saying used to go, if you are a team that has three QBs you can go to,
that really means you have none. Same applies to RBs.

As for Patrick Ramsey, the guy has done nothing in the NFL besides play in a
couple of meaningless games last season and is known for not being all that
accurate. People are allowed to say whatever they want about him until he
proves otherwise. You dont get credit before you earn it and youre wanting
people to give credit to guys like Trung Canidate? patrick Ramsey? ladell
betts? Are you kidding???

Earn it first.

That wasn't my point. It was a rebuttal of just one more "expert's"
(moron's) opinion. The fact is, there are probably about 15 other NFL
teams that would love to have Ramsay for their QB, and would probably
like one or two of our four RBs as well. Our QB and RBs are the least of
our problems.

Perhaps as backups I mean I highly doubt there are many teams that wish the
had any of
the Redskins RBs why would they. I am sure there are a few that would like
Ramsey as their starter.
But not any where close to 15, maybe 15 would want him as a backup, but no
way would they all
want him as the starter. I think Ramsey is a good looking prospect, but at
this time that is all he is.

Here, I'll start:

1. Dallas (maybe?)
2. .....

I'm stumped.

Granted, 15 was a number I pulled out of the air. The point was,
"experts" who run around claiming that "the Skins have no QB" are
insinuating that because the Skins have a young QB who has a limited
number of reg season snaps, "they don't have a QB."

I can certainly think of a few right away:

1) Dallas
2) Seattle
3) Arizona
4) Pittsburgh
5) Carolina

If you want to add teams that rely on QBs past their prime like
Testaverde, Charlie Batch, Mark Brunell, or Tommy Maddox, you can start
to add to that list.

Common, we've yet again restructured our team. That means nobody really
knows how well they will do. Trung could be awesome, Ramsey might be Tom
Brady this year. We don't know, they could also be crap. I think we can
agree that the offseason moves are intended to get personnel that better fit
Spurrier's system. This is a good thing I think. Whether or not they truly
perform as intended this year is yet to be seen.

My gut tells me they will be alright, but others say they will be 6 -10.
Bottom line is we really don't know. Too much has changed to accurately
predict things at this point (some people think they will be horrid due to
the extraordinary changes, but we can point to instances where this was
successful as well). We can all guess, and then those who come out closest
can proclaim themselves geniuses, but truly, we don't know. I doubt anyone
but homers predicted the Pats going to the Superbowl a few years back - were
they geniuses? Seriously, the only thing we can all agree is it will be
interesting to see how they perform. Personally I am dying with
anticipation...I feel like a catsup bottle...

No it doesn't. There's a reason why you've never heard the phrase
"Quarterback by committee." Heck, both superbowl teams had
runningbacks by committee last year.

His yards per attempt (the most important stat for a QB) is 6.8, the
NFL average. Not bad for a rookie holdout with a turnstyle OL and slow
receivers.
