Default The real question is: How good are the Jets ?

Well, at first the Redskins looked pretty good, but as most of us will
agree the game got tougher as it went along.

I know the Jets lost a few very talented players...but they still
looked strong (I'd rather say that, then say the redskins looked weak
from time to time).

A few positive notes:

Ramsey got skooled, in a good way. His face was sweaty, and he looked
a bit roughed up in the second half, but all to his credit, he hung in
their and seemed in improved. This game got harder and harder for the
skins, call it a battle of wills, and the skins won to their credit.

I would say, the Jets are really well coached, they seemed to adapt to
what the Redskins were doing. They (the Jets) made it harder and
harder to move down the field. The Redskins won with talent and
heart.

Like I stated before, the skins are powerful and will surprise a lot
of teams and fans ( I hope).

BUT, I'm hoping the Jets are one of the better teams in the league (at
least I think they are well coached). because, if the Jets are an
average team, then the Redskins have to improve a lot, about every
week to be good enough to battle with the top teams. I know Ramsey
and the team will get better every game, but still, we all want to see
a blow out or two and a few playoff games, right !!!

I'm thinking this is a convenient excuse for the Jets fans. Early on those
underneath slants got the Jets six points, keep the Skins from blitzing and
negated the pass rush, as little of that as there was. Later on, when the Jets did
look down field, the Skins were right there covering it. Sometimes with the help
from the LB's. You could see that even with all the time in the world, the only
thing that was consistently open for the Jets, was the comeback patterns. That by
the way, is what Smoot gave up. I didn't see Testaverde miss a lot of open
receivers. In fact, early on. I was surprised by how often he would hit the right
receiver. As the game wore on it appeared to me the Skins were going to allow dink
and dunk bullshit but nothing intermediate and most certainly, nothing long. If
the Jets fans want to bitch, they should bitch about the fact their receivers were
rarely open.

In a sense, I agree with what you're getting at though, Giants have better
receivers and of course a sharper QB. They won't allow the Skins to dictate what
patterns to run as much as they were able to last night.

Does anybody remember Ohalete breaking up a three pass plays right around half
time. All three were way beyond the first down mark. Last year, I think they
would have gotten at least one of them, probably all three.

I agree, to give the defense credit, they did clamp down as the game
went on.
