POSTCARDS

ADDRESS:

Yellowstone National Park
Planning Office
P.O. Box 168
Yellowstone National Park, WY 82190

POSTCARD #1:

I support the proposed rules that allow continued snowmobile access in
Yellowstone National Park. Although these rules call for strict
management and for limitations on the number of sleds entering the
Park, they are appropriate.

There should be equally high standards for snowcoaches.

Sincerely,

POSTCARD #2:

I support the proposed rules that will allow snowmobile access to
continue in Yellowstone National Park. While these rules place strict
management and limitations, I recognize them to be appropriate for
continue access to this special park.

The opportunity for my family to visit Yellowstone using a
non-commerical guide is important to me. I encourage you to ensure the
opportunity for proper training and certification is developed in a
timely manner. Hopefully the success of this program will be a high
priority for the Park Service.

Sincerely,

POSTCARD #3:

I support the proposed rules that will allow snowmobile access to
continue in Yellowstone National Park. While these rules place strict
management and limitations, I recognize them to be appropriate for
continue access to this special park.

I would request that you reconsider access to Firehole Canyon Drive,
North Canyon Rim Drive and Riverside Drive. These are special places
that snowmobile visitors also deserve to experience.

Sincerely,

LETTER

Dear Madam/Sir:

I support the proposed rules that will allow snowmobile access to
continue in Yellowstone National Park. While these rules place strict
management and limitations, I recognize them to be appropriate for
continue access to this special park.

Snowmobile access to Yellowstone should promote a family experience in
this special place. However, the proposed rules would eliminate the
ability for young family members with a "learner permit" to operate
their own snowmobile as well as eliminate the ability for families
with young children to transport them in properly designed passenger
tow sleds. I have seen no proof that these are legitimate visitor
safety issues while they definitely are actions that discourage family
access. Additionally, the policy change that will allow only one
snowmobile access to the parks with an annual park pass rather than an
entire immediate family with multiple sleds is discriminatory and will
discourage family outings. I urge you to reconsider these rules.

I am also concerned that the rules don't appear to regulate
snowcoaches. They need to be held to high standards similar to what
have been set for snowmobiles.

Finally, I would request that you also reconsider access to Firehole
Canyon Drive, North Canyon Rim Drive and Riverside Drive. These are
special places that snowmobile visitors also deserve to experience.

Sincerely,

Default Yellowstone Comments Needed Before Oct 14th!

Can't stress enough how important it is for everyone to comment on
this. It does affect you whether you ride in Yellowstone or not. It
doesn't take long.

As has been evidenced they are going to sue to try to stop snowmobiles
and will try Congress again also to remove snowmobiles from
Yellowstone.

Pass the information along to all your friends to comment on the
issue.
